Joede started Dance Plus along with her sister Sharyce with a vision of creating a studio where artistic and educational excellence was provided to ALL students. Today she is the studio director as well as a full-time teacher of ballet, tap, modern, lyrical and jazz to all ages.
Joede is a graduate of Mason Gross School of Fine Arts at Rutgers University with a B.F.A. in dance. As a professional dancer, she has performed with the renowned Don Redlich Dance Company, Mark Morris, Doug Varone, Fred Benjamin, Robert Christopher, Claudia Gittleman and Anne Reinking. She has taught world-renowned entertainers and choreographed numerous music and exercise videos. Her choreography from the American Dance Festival earned an invitation and opportunity to perform at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. And she has performed at Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center in New York. She has also served as a judge at the national level for several of the largest dance competitions in the United States.
Joede is the driving force behind Dance Plus’ community involvement and has received awards and accolades for her non-profit dance company, The Persson Dance Ensemble, which has performed from coast to coast.
Joede’s teaching, choreography and business intellect have been featured on Entertainment Tonight, TIME and Self Magazine as well as receiving the Young Entrepreneur’s Award from Ernst and Young.

Robert teaches hip hop, jazz, ballet, modern and lyrical to all age groups. His unlimited energy and top-notch choreography are student favorites. He is also a highly sought after ballroom and wedding choreographer and shares these talents with numerous brides and grooms on a regular basis.
Robert is a graduate of Mason Gross School of Fine Arts with a B.F.A. in dance. As a professional dancer, he has performed with Madonna, Stevie B, Philadanco, Cirque, Dancesport NYC, the Don Redlich Dance Company, Mark Morris, Doug Varone, Fred Benjamin, Robert Christopher, and Claudia Gittleman. Robert was a featured performer at Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center and a competitor at the prestigious Blackpool Dance Festival in London.
Also a firm believer in giving back to the community, Robert participated in The Persson Dance Ensemble and carries this philanthropic nature to the Dance Plus students every day by supporting their efforts to “get involved.”

Tommy teaches tap, jazz and modern.
He is a 2005 graduate of The Ohio State University with a B.F.A. in dance performance. Tommy is a Florida native where he trained at New Tampa Dance Theatre. While training, he has had the opportunity to work with many world-renowned choreographers and dancers such as Gregory Hines, Anne Reinking, Gwen Verdon, Sheila Barker, Bebe Miller, AC Cuilla, Slam, Shea Sullivan and members of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre. He has performed with the Columbus Dance Theater contemporary ballet company, in the United Kingdom tour of Tap Fusion, as a guest artist with BalletMet Columbus, Collide Contemporary Dance Company and most recently Parsons Dance . He is currently a member of dre.dance and AM Dance Project.
Olivia is our newest Hip Hop teacher. She is a graduate of Marymount Manhattan College in New York City. She continued her training throughout New York and New Jersey and began teaching her own Hip Hop and street dance classes as the director of MTM Dance Factory. |
Jamie, a former student of Dance Plus teaches, Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop and Modern to all age groups
Jamie is a recent graduate, Magna Cum Laude from George Mason University and received a BFA in Dance as well as K-12 education certification. Jamie is currently a company member with Nicholas Andre Dance as well as Marinspired contemporary company. While in school she has performed the works of Elisa Monte, Mark Morris, Doug Varone, David Parsons, Robert Battle, Lar Lubovitch as well as performing the solo role in Twyla Tharp’s “Eight Jelly Roles”. She has been awarded with the 2011 School of Dance Excellence in academic endeavors award, the GMU 2008 Outstanding Freshman Scholarship and the 2009 and 2010 Kevin Campbell Summer Scholarships. She has taught at various studios in New Jersey, Northern Virginia and Washington D.C. Her choreography has been featured at numerous showcases including the George Mason University company 2010 fall concert. Jamie is thrilled to be returning home to Dance Plus to become a part of the highly regarded teaching staff.

Kara teaches ballet, tap, Jazz and Hip Hop. As a professional, she danced for the New York Knicks, Radio City Music Hall, The Easter Show and David Letterman with AntiGravity Gymnastics and Dance Productions as well as many venues internationally. |
